Circulation Policy

How do I get a library card?  

1. All Ohio residents are eligible for a library card without charge.

2. Provide a picture identification and proof of current address. 

3. Fill out and sign the Library User Application (in-person, with exceptions for the disabled).  

4. A parent or guardian who has a library card may get a card for their child using the above-mentioned ID and application. Both parent/guardian and child must be present. 

5. A child ages 14-17 may sign up for a card without parent/guardian permission by presenting photo identification, the completed and signed application, and proof of address. 

 

What can I do with a library card? 

1. You get access to all items at CLPL as well as the collections of all COOL member libraries. 

2. You can check out up to 15 items, 4 of which can be DVDs. Educators can check out up to 50.  

3. You can access library computers using your library card and the last four digits of your phone number. 

4. Through our membership in the Ohio Digital Library, you have access to over 500,000 electronic resources. 

 

What else do I need to know? 

1. Patrons under 18 cannot check out DVDs rated "R" or "TV MA."

2. We are fine free unless you lose or damage materials. 

3. Renewals are automatic unless another patron is waiting for your item.
