Henry Jackson Smith was born in Union County, Pennsylvania on 3/26/1841. He married Francina Smith on 3/26/1868 in Morrow County, Ohio, seven children were born of this union. Henry was a farmer while living in the Cardington, Ohio area. Sometime after 1870 he moved his family to Kansas where he continued farming. He was a member of the Custard Post #39 of the G.A.R. and was a police/judge at the time of his death in 1920. He collected an invalid’s pension on 4/24/1890.
