Captured on July 18, 1864 at Dadeville, Alabama during Rousseu’s Raid through Alabama and Georgia.  He was imprisoned at Andersonville Prison and other prisons for the duration of the war.

Mustered out on June 12, 1865 at Camp Chase, Columbus, Ohio

Other interesting information discovered:

Regiment lost during service 1 Officer and 16 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 2 Officers and 186 Enlisted men by disease. Total 205.

There were several soldiers from Cardington imprisoned at Andersonville.  Undoubtedly, they were in contact with one another during their confinement.

He died at the age of 36 at Mt. Gilead, Ohio in 1879
