Other interesting information discovered:

Madison Smith was born in Morrow County, Ohio on 11/8/1841.  On 12/24/1865 he married Susan Kelly in Morrow County.  Madison lived and farmed in Morrow County much of his life.  He received an invalid’s pension on 4/16/1884. Susan Smith received a widow’s pension on  4/3/1906.  The date of his death and place of burial are unknown.
