Gilbert McFarland Brown was born on 8/13/1846 in Morrow County, Ohio. He married Emaline Alspar in Morrow County 10/27/1867, eight children were born of this union.  Gilbert and his family remained in the Cardington, Ohio are where he was employed as a painter. Gilbert collected an invalid’s pension on 5/18/1889. His wife, Emaline collected a widow’s pension on 12/9/1898.
