Other interesting information discovered:

The 2nd.OVI lost during service 9 Officers and 96 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 138 Enlisted men by disease. Total 243.

Richard Duncan appears to have been born in Ireland.  There is no record of his ever applying for a pension.  This could be a result of never having applied for US citizenship.
