Originally assigned to company “U,” unassigned recruits, but later assigned to company K.  In 1863 the notation “forwarded to regiment Dec., 1863” was made.  At some point he then enlisted in the Company B and H of the 17th. VRC – Veteran Reserve Corp.

Other interesting information discovered:

On June 1, 1865 George Forinash drowned in the White River of Indiana.  He is buried in the Crown Hill National Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.  On August 7, 1865 a minor’s pension was filed on the behalf of his grandson, B.W. Ratliff.
