Records found in Find a Grave indicated that Benjamin enlisted with his four brothers on 4/25/1861. He was wounded at the Battle of Stone River on 12/31/1862.  He mustered out with his company on 6/21/1864. Pension records reveal Benjamin also served in the 18th Regiment, Company G, from 4/3/1865 to 10/9/1865.

Other interesting information discovered:

Benjamin Meeker was born in Morrow County, Ohio in the year 1842.  Benjamin married Hannah Smith in Marion Ohio on 1/3/1870, one child was born of this union.  Benjamin was a farmer in the Marion County, Ohio area.  Benjamin filed for an invalid’s pension on 10/8/1880. Hannah received a widow’s pension on 2/14/1883.
