Battles in which he fought

According to his account, he was a bushwhacker in the “Price Raid,” and a scout through Missouri to New Mexico.  He deemed the Price raid through Arkansas and Missouri to be the most important part of his service.

Other interesting information discovered:

Robert Morton was born in Knox County, Ohio.  At some point before the war he had moved to Leroy, Kansas, just southwest of Kansas City, Missouri.  He eventually came back to Ohio and settle in Morrow County.  In 1882 he filed for a soldier’s pension.
