Battles in which he fought:

This Regiment was organized at Cleveland to serve 100 days garrison at Forts Lincoln, Saratoga, Thayer, Bunker Hill, Slocum, Totten and Stevens, forming part of a chain of fortifications surrounding the National Capital. The soldiers remained in these forts during the while term of its service, and participated in the fight before Washington with part of Early’s Corps, July 10 and 11th, 1864. They returned to Ohio and mustered out on August 23, 1864.

Henry Skinner was born on Nov 5, 1832 in New York. He married Nancy Ann Shepard on June 26, 1852; seven children were born of this union.  Henry is listed as an engineer and a caulker in the shipyards of Cleveland. Henry received an invalid pension on Sept. 10, 1890: his wife Nancy received a widow’s pension on June 4, 1908.
