Norman C White was born in New York in 1842. His brother John B White served in the 3rd OVI and 174th OVI.  He married Susan B Larkey in Iowa on 2/28/1864. Susan died in 1872. Norman then married Eliza Emma Maudsley. Norman had eight children.  He lived in the Cardington, Ohio area prior to the war.   Norman was a farmer and carpenter in Kansas and Iowa, eventually moving to California.  Eliza collected a widow’s pension on 7/6/1908.
