Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Where should I park?

A: Street parking is available along E. Main St. in front of the library.  We also have a parking lot located at the back of the building, accessible via the alley next to the building.


Q: What is COOL-Cat?

A: COOL-Cat is the consortium, or group of libraries, that CLPL belongs to that allows us to share materials between member libraries to maximize the amount of materials that you, our patron, have access to for the most economical price.


Q: How much are fines?

A: We do not charge late or overdue fees, we only charge for the replacement cost of damaged or lost materials.  Items are considered lost after 30 days.


Q: If I lose or damage a book, can I buy a replacement for the library?

A: No, we can only accept payment for lost or damaged items.


Q: How do I sign up for a library card?

A: All residents of Ohio, age five years or older, can sign up for a free library card by bringing a picture ID and proof of current address to the library. Patrons under 14 years of age must have a parent or guardian sign their application and show picture ID.  Find more information here.


Q: How many items can I check out?

A: Patrons may borrow up to 15 physical total items at a time, up to 4 of which can be DVDs, and up to 20 digital items, available through the Ohio Digital Library.


Q: How long can I borrow items?

A: Check out times: books and TV series for 2 weeks, movies, WiFi hot spots, and smart books for 1 week.  Items will be automatically renewed unless the item has a hold on it by another patron.


Q: How can I replace my library card if I lose it?

A: A replacement card can be purchased for $1.00 from library staff at the front desk.
