The Library's Response to the Coronavirus

June 2021 Update...

All state mandates that might affect the library have been lifted, so we are no longer requiring patrons to wear masks while in the library.  We are fully open and welcome patrons to the library for regular services and for programming events.  If you are feeling unwell, for any reason, we ask that you consider postponing your visit to the library until you're feeling better.

November 19, 2020 Update...

Despite the rapid spread of COVID-19 across the state, the library remains open to serve your need to browse for books, use a computer, make copies or use other library services. We feel confident that masks, acrylic panels, social distancing, and ongoing cleaning are effective in keeping you as safe as possible while in the library. If you prefer not to enter the building, please call ahead or use our online catalog to place holds for materials that may be picked up at the window located to the left of the front entrance.

Stay safe. #InThisTogetherOhio

June 1, 2020 Update...

We have now opened the building and are open for our regularly scheduled hours (Mon.-Thurs. 10:30am-7:00pm; Saturday 10:30am-2:00pm)

In this Phase 2 of the COVID-19 Reopening Plan, we have implemented ongoing cleaning and distancing procedures for the staff and ask that patrons:

  • Wear masks (we have masks available at no cost)
  • Maintain social distancing of at least six feet
  • Limit their visit to one hour

Our Summer Reading Program is still happening but with adaptations for safety.

March 13, 2020 Update...

The Cardington-Lincoln Public Library is closely monitoring information about the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19). The health and safety of our customers and staff is a top priority. Currently our location at 128 East Main Street is open and operating under normal schedules. At this time, the library will continue to offer all regularly scheduled events and programs, except Story Time and one-on-one technical assistance with our Digital Literacy Trainer.

We're working with local health officials and following directions from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Ohio Department of Health (ODH). Right now, we are taking additional steps beyond regular practices and cleaning and sanitizing all libraries as much as possible. We're also making hand gel sanitizers available for library users.

Everyone has a role to play in reducing the spread of COVID-19 and staying healthy. Please stay home and do not visit the library if you are exhibiting signs of the flu or if you are not feeling well. We invite you to explore everything we have to offer on our website. You can download eBooks and audiobooks on Overdrive or the Libby App. If you have questions, please call the library at 419-864-8181.

To stay healthy, the CDC and other health agencies recommend:

  1. Washing your hands frequently. Wash your hands for 20 seconds or more with soapy water. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
  2. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
  3. Avoid contact with people who are sick.
  4. Stay home and away from others if you are sick.
  5. Clean and disinfect objects and surfaces frequently.
  6. Cover your mouth/nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing.
