Battles in which he fought:
Performed guard duty over Confederate prisoners at Camp Chase. The regiment was also involved in the pursuit of Morgan’s Raid through Ohio and the suppression of the Holmes County Rebellion in 1863. His pension file notes that he lost his “great toe” at some point in his life.

William Brenizer was born in Pennsylvania. He is shown to be residing in Westfield Township through the 1870’s before moving to Cardington Township, Morrow County.
