Charles Lewis Clancy was born in Ohio on 5/3/1850.In 1870 he was a harness maker living in the Chesterville, Ohio area. He married Ida Mae White on 8/31/1878 in the State of Indiana, one child was born of this union. Census records indicate Charles was a traveling salesman. He collected an invalid’s pension on 4/25/1892. The obituary listed Charles as the general manager and proprietor of the Paratone Company in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was also a dealer in horses and owner of Dan Boone and several other well-known race horses. He was a member of the G.A.R. and the Central Christian Church. He died of heart disease in 1922. His wife, Ida collected a widow’s pension on 12/4/1922.
