John Murray Hiskett was born on 11/8/1839 in Mt Gilead, Ohio.  John married Lousia Juliette Norvell on 9/30/1875 in Sullivan, Missouri, three children were born of this union.  John and his family lived and farmed in Grundy County, Missouri. John was also a carpenter. The 1910 Missouri census indicates at age 70, John was an Optician.  John collected an invalid’s pension on 11/20/1890, his wife, Louisa collected a widow’s pension on 4/25/1914.
