John D Patterson was born on 6/25/1825.  He lived in Cardington, Ohio, Columbus, Ohio and Paulding County, Ohio during his lifetime.  He suffered from an eye disease and was admitted to the National Hospital for Disabled Soldiers in Dayton, Ohio on two occasions. Those records reveal he was living in Columbus, Ohio with his wife, Mary and he was employed as a shoemaker. He collected an invalid’s pension on 3/26/1866.
