Other interesting information discovered:

Martin B Purvis was born on 2/16/1847 in Cardington, Ohio to the union of Alexander and Mary Purvis. Alexander ran was a butcher and ran a hotel in Cardington.  On 4/18/1867 Martin married Amelia A Hancock in Morrow County, they had one child.  Martin was a farmer in the Marion County area. Sometime after 1870 he and his family moved to Muscatine, Iowa where he continued farming.  Martin collected an invalid’s pension on 8/11/1890.
