Henry Rose first enlisted on April 25, 1861, enrolling in the Company I of the 3rd. OVI.  He was mustered out on August 22, 1861.  He then enlisted in the 31st. OVI on the date provided.  He was reduced in rank from corporal, mustered out with the company on July 20, 1865 at Louisville, Kentucky.

Henry Rose was married to Ella Utley.  In 1860 he was living in Lincoln Township, Morrow County.  By 1880 he was residing in Syracuse, Nebraska.  His listed occupation was “well digger.”
