This Regiment was organized in the State of Ohio in May and June of 1862 to serve three months and was retained at Camp Chase, Columbus, Ohio to aid in guarding the large number of Rebel prisoners in confinement there. It was mustered out on September 23-17, 1862 by reason of expiration of term of service.

Addison Sharp was born in Ohio on 6/5/1839. He married Sarah Jane Johnson on 4/181863. Sarah died in 1870 and Addison then married Almira Scribner. Records reflect Addison may have had four children. At one time Addison lived at 300 Main Street in Cardington. During his lifetime he sold patent rights and was also a farmer. He received an invalid pension on 6/10/1889.
