By 1870 he moved to California, where is listed as being a railroad agent. In 1879 his wife, Amy died at Sonoma County, Ca. In 1883 he filed for a soldier’s pension in California. In 1884 he married Lena Sinclair. Likens died at Plymouth, Maine. His wife, Lena, filed for a widow’s pension shortly after his death.
