Winfield Scott Maxwell was born in Cardington, Ohio on 10/8/1847. He married Susan Medilia Crumb on Christmas Day 1866, five children were born of tis union. Sometime after the War Winfield and his family moved to Kansas where he was a farmer and fruit agent. At one time he was a foreman with the rail road. Winfield was a member of the G.A.R. Post Siverd #85 Kansas. He received an invalid’s pension on 1/8/1890. By 1930 Winfield was living in California.
